First Annual Inti 4v4 Soccer Tournament

The First Annual Inti 4v4 tournament saw 30 teams from around the state competing in a 4v4 tournament at Gill Stadium on August 4. Inti players and teams competed against teams from local premier clubs, USDA Academy programs, and area high schools. Winners received an Inti 4v4 Tournament Champions t-shirt. The champions in each age bracket were:

U10/11 Little Legends

U12 GPS U11 Navy

U13/14 Chelsea FC (Runner up: Inti Academy!)

U14 Girls NH Select

HS Division 2: NH United

HS Division 1: Manchester Soccer Club

Tournament Director Nick Green remarked “This was a great start to an annual tradition. The 4v4 format is a bit unusual, as it is a departure from the normal 3v3 small-sided tournament. However, as in the game of futsal, the four-a-side format allows players and teams to do a bit more in terms of tactical combinations and movement off of the ball. Teams seems to really like it, and we look forward to doing it again next year.”

Nick Green expressed gratitude to several organizations for their generosity in supplying fields, equipment, and personnel for the tournament: “The City of Manchester Parks, Recreation, and Cemetery Department really came through in supplying Gill Stadium free of charge for Inti. This is a premium turf facility that enabled our Inti children to walk to their games. “ He also thanked FutsalNH, the tournament sponsor, for supplying all the manpower in organizing and running the tournament, as well as equipment (goals, balls, tents, etc.).

Inti Academy intends to hold the tournament each year, with the intention of raising funds for its work with the under-served children of Manchester.
